Welcome to my video samples! Most of the individual videos here have been shortened from their original form to fit the "clip" time-limits. Components within the videos were either filmed/photographed by me or family or are items I have purchased the copyright to use (such as background music). All editing work was done via Final Cut Pro or other Mac programs. Enjoy, and remember, this is only a sample. If you really want to see what I can do, put me on your team and watch me go!

Above is the video intro used for my former business, Talbott Studios. I created it in LiveType on a Mac G4.

Below is my official sample reel. There are different types of video work represented, from formal to family & even film transfer. Everything is my original work except for older family photos & music by GM, royalty paid.

The next video is a shortened form of a biography that is featured in the sample reel. The life depicted is my grandfather, and the video was shot in available, though not optimum, conditions. It was an impromptu session on vacation, sitting on the front porch of his home. Two months later, he passed away. I like it, but would have addressed lighting issues and background noise annoyances, like barking dogs & loud birds. So, as a professional, I see those things. However, what I realized in how the family appreciated and loved it, was that those things did not detract from the video... those things were part of his life, and only added to the content of the piece. The environmental conditions were his, and further gave a glimpse into who he was. A bio is, after all, an audio/visual picture of a person's life... it should speak a thousand words...it should make you feel as if you knew that person, and were remembering.  The original video is approximately 23 minutes long.

Some of my most creative work is NOT posted here because the music used for background would involve copyright issues. If you would like to see these just to show what I'm really capable of doing, please contact me.

I love to make and edit movies/videos, to tell a story and use my attention to detail to make it the best it can be. It is amazing to see how the piece unfolds... the process is inspiring and fun... to take an idea, and work it into a living thing that speaks to the hearts of people - it just doesn't get any better than that! Sometimes the preferred materials aren't available for the job. But part of the journey is in either working with what you have or finding a way to fill the need. I get to be creative AND analytical... filling both sides of who I am.

This is in the heart of purpose.

It is a priviledge and a blessing to be able to make your living doing something that you were, very clearly, made to do... something that fills your heart with a satisfaction that it's all meshing the way it was meant to, and you are doing your part.
