I believe in living out loud, in something bigger than self, and in working hard for things that matter. Walking out my beliefs is what gives you an ethical, loyal, dedicated employee. It is sometimes hard to see who you're really getting from a resume, so here is the place where I will tell you a bit about my experiences and goals... things you won't necessarily see on a resume.
Though there have been what I call "smaller jobs" dotted here and there, when circumstances required it, 10 years was spent in Cosmetology, followed by 5 years of college, followed by 10 years in movie/video production & post production work. Due to economic needs, I am currently working at Publix. I am impressed with the company and applaude their ethics, methods and community involvement. They value their people and it shows. I have the utmost respect for my supervisors and co-workers. It is not an easy job. I am grateful for the opportunity to get back into the workforce and will continue to do my job to the best of my abilities for the time that I am there. But I also know that my heart is somewhere else, and that opportunity will eventually present itself.
I am a quick study and know how to ask questions. I've taught myself how to use many computer programs and learned others through school or work. I am fluent in most standard Windows programs and in many Mac programs, having worked on both platforms for the past 10 years. I'm not on the computer programmer level of expertise, but I'm more computer literate than the average person. I have supervisory experience and office skills, as well as production and service skills. My typing speed generally hovers around 50 wpm, I've answered multiple phone lines and worked in office-type positions as well as production/service type positions. I like people, but can work both on a team and in solitary easily. I enjoyed working with others on a crew just as much as working alone in a darkroom most of the day. Generally, it's the incredibly detailed and tedious work that no one else wants that I love the most. I take direction well, and enjoy teaching... sharing what I know with those who need or want that knowledge.
Having worked a lot with electronic equipment, I can tell you a fair portion of it is figuring out how to make it work. You're part technician and part repairman and part artist and probably a few more things. Sometimes you have to outsmart the program or the machinery to get it to do what you need. I know the value of hard work and honesty. I'm flexible, multi-tasking, and organized. There's far more to me than meets the eye, which becomes aparent the more you get to know me. I am good at areas involving critical thinking, details, creative problem solving, language structure (and other writing/english skills), teaching & speaking with people, as well as artistic endeavors. If you are considering me for a position with your company, know you are getting someone who loves to learn and is both skilled and dedicated. I am also dedicated to a relationship with the Lord, so I am not available on Sundays.
In the future, I plan to work toward a Master's Degree and continue to work on fulfilling my purpose, but I see a few different possibilities of where that will take me. I will always create art, as it is part of me, but I also know that is not all there is to it. It is within me to do so much, to accomplish something great & meaningful, to soar. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and that my future holds something I've not expected... something more... more than I ever thought I was. We plan, God laughs. We are made to be overcomers and to present our best to the world. In these things, I will not waiver, no matter what I am doing. I believe in dreams coming true.
Sincerely,
Tammy
